Lets not get hung up on engine codes, LT1 & LS1 are way too over rated.
Though the are not a bad starting point.

I voted for the new car BTW. I am normally not someone scared of a little hard work, but with your situation the new car approach is probabily better anyways, and if you can swing it, if you pick up one now during "Winter" and sell your current car during spring, you might not be too far off from the cost of the 350 swap in the first place.

        Good Luck

put in a 350. Me and a buddy just build a 355 with 418hp/389tq for less then $1600 and dropped that in his third gen. They are a dime a dozen but so are 4th gens now and the same with fox body mustangs. 3rd gens are such a cheap platform to build off of too.

Please Find me a CLEAN fox body or 3rd gen for cheap. There out there but a clean one will cost you.

Also something you have to think about if you build a engine you need a new trans cause that 6 cylinder trans wont bolt up

I think you should find a 4th gen that needs work.
Oh and if you want ttops make them in a 4th gen

1995 TA Sold. i sure do miss it though.

Way out of my price range. lol. As for a fixer upper, I have no problem with it. I just really want t-tops, becuse to me that defines a f-body. I got a quote on getting some instailed on mine and I beleave it was like $1200 and would take the guy a week to do.

That's the same thing I faced, I wanted the T-Tops. You can score a sweet deal on a fixer upper, and if you get another third gen, I know of lots of places to get parts. Just make sure you don't want to get involved in too much work unless you really want to. If you really want to get another third gen, I might be able to hook you up with one for cheap. Too bad my friend sold his Formula, didn't have T-Tops but it only had 62k original miles I believe and he sold it for $300.

I would check autotrader. You can usually find them very cheap however you may have to drive a nice little distance
