No there's no problem with it. I've done it on this car, I did it on my last car, and even did it to a friend's car a long time ago. I'm a huge supporter of the method. The idea I don't like is that it's since it's already there, dropping the rear end, tank, etc. to put a new stock assembly in seems stupid. That's one of the reasons why I'm going with the braided lines and AN fittings. So I'll still be able to utilize the trap door

I think its time i give up on the car hobby.... Maybe i'll take up pottery or quilting...

Got to work on the fuel lines today. Took my mesurements and cut the hoses and installed the hose ends etc. Then proceeded to remove the stock metal fuel lines. Unbolted all the little clamps and un bolted the lines from the engine bay. These things weren't easy to pull out of the car in one piece and since i figured i wasnt ever gojng to reuse them and no one is going to buy them off me, why be gental? Started to use my bolt cutters and take them out in sections. All was going well until i got to the area where the fuel filter was. Traced the wrong line and cut the break line..... ****.

i think i should take this as a sign.

Oh stop, don't talk like that. Happens to everyone on occasion. This just means you have an excuse to replace brake lines now lol

The fuel lines are done. No leaks. Holding pressure better than before. At least that seems to have went well. Im usually real good at posting pics of my projects but i didnt take any of this. Guess my heart wasnt in it. Frusterated to say the least. Who needs brakes anyway? Perhaps i can live with it...

on a serious note, ive ordered new rear brake lines. Now just wait for those to get here. Cherry on the cake, my tach isnt working anymore. Just another thing to worry about.

nevermind - white wire on the coil is for the tach.

Brake lines are replaced. Went really smoothly. I hate bleeding breaks but got it done. As far as the tach goes... I did something I might regret later. Bought a cheap Chinese made 5" tach off ebay and installed that. Very Fast and Furious like. I'll get flamed for it being an automatic but who cares. Chances are I'll get sick of it and toss it eventually but for now it fixes the problem.

Car got me to work this morning without a problem. So I call that a win. A month and a half later... win?

Maybe I'll get out and take some pics this weekend after I detail her up a bit. Mechanical issues always put apperance on the back-burner for me so she's looking a bit grimey. A good wash and wax will do both of us some good.
