You should be able to check the resistance on your current plug wires. Honestly, the cap and rotor didn't look too bad, especially if you cleaned up the corrosion.

You didn't go and use fuel system cleaner, did you? I put that shit into my IROC once and spent like $150 (being in high school at the time, that was a lot ) trying to fix the misfires and rough running, when it just didn't like the cleaner.

No, i used a fuel system cleaner once and it clogged the fuel filter and the car wouldn't start. Never again. Besides, the pump and filter were replaced at the same time this last weekend so there should be NO obstructions in the feed line...

Pretend I'm a noob, tell me how to check plug wire resistance. I DO have a multi-meter.

One lead to one end, the other lead to the other. Should be like 4000-10000 ohms per foot. If it's far higher, then it's not transmitting the spark efficiently.

OK, I'll check the wires tonight. I'll also try the injector thing Joel mentioned. I'll keep y'all updated.

Checked the wires with my multi-meter, they seem to have ohmed out OK. I checked the injectors (that was nerve racking) and none seem to be leaking... that surprised me. I'm stumped. If the injectors aren't leaking, why am I losing pressure after priming. Is the new fuel pump to blame? Or is it possible the injectors are still bad even if I don't see them leak?
If it's not fuel related, then it's ignition - correct? But if the plug wires are good and the cap and rotor don't seem that bad, what should I be looking for? I could pull a plug or two but I'm not sure what I'd be looking for. I'm not imagining this issue. It's clear as day when I drive her.

Well, fuel, spark and air are the three key things. It's likely not related at all, but I'm just throwing everything out there: have you verified the position/voltage of the TPS?

Can make the throttle work goofy, which can lead to some stumbling - though I doubt it would be this bad.

Adjusting it is really easy, luckily.

Ok then, that'll have to wait till I get the tp end back together. Not going to do me much good with the throttle body sitting on my work bench.

So, I'm going with my hunch and I ordered some new injectors. If nothing else just to eliminate that as a possiblity. If the fuel pressure issue still persists, I'm taking the new fuel pump out and sending it back to the place I got it from. Then I start looking at replacing the plug wires and cap and rotor. This is really starting to feel like Epic all over again.... *sighs*

Step one remove ALL shit. Step two cut out 80% of wiring. Step three buy MSD ignition and carb. Step 4 install. Step 5 enjoy.

You're in Cali no reason you can't drive a carb'd car!

Was the best thing I did to my car.
