  • 4th gen rear end

Has anyone swapped a 4th gen rear end into there third gen? I am about to do this. I am buying new wheels but I am not sure what offset and backspacing I would need? Any help would be great.

I did, if your planning on running 4th gen or corvette wheels they will fit no problem, You'll still need to run adapters up front 2".

what are you doing with you stock unit ?

Is there a specific reason you're choosing a 4th gen rear end? Other than the brakes, there is not much advantage in swapping. You can get a stronger Ford 8.8 or even a 67-81 GM 10 bolt (8.5") and your total cost would be negligibly more and would yield a much stronger results.

Only based on its cost, availability, and bolt on application.

well they are out there, could even find one free too, shoot me a price on your stock unit with some details. If you want to upgrade your brakes on the stock unit or 4th gen, I know a local guy.
