Working on a 91 RS Camaro and I found stress cracks on the roof. What's the best way to repair this and prevent it from coming back?

Stiffen the body and suspension up is the only way to prevent them but every thirdgen that I have seen has had these. Ask James or Sean how they prevent them from coming back those are two cars in person I have seen without them.sigpic

I guess I was was lucky when I bought my car 18 years ago. It was low mileage and didn't have any cracks. I put in SFC's right away and its still crack free. T-top cars are not as prone to cracking in the roof as a hard top. The hard top cars have a massive natural stress riser right at the top where the B pillar meets the roof.sigpicTurbo Charged LS1/T56

subframe connectors and a 6 point roll bar here. i repainted the car and smoothed it all out and dont have any issues now. would expect i never will once the remaining part of the cage goes in next year

but to fix the problem, drill a small hole at the end of the crack, grind each side of the crack, to make like a valley, but a row of tacks in there, grind smooth and stiffen the car up with what the guys said above.'91 Camaro Modded, LSx, House of Kolor Intense White, lowered, GS chrome 18" wheels, 14" Brembo CTS-V on all 4 corners, LS rear end, FP suspension components
