  • Paint, Polish or Powder Coat?

Picked up some new wheels for the TA but they need some work.

    $(KGrHqQOKjIE28TMlj)tBN3DOUG1kg~~_3.jpg$(KGrHqEOKjsE2)lj5cONBN3DOeszog~~_3.jpg

All 4 are 18x9 so the 245/40 tires need to go!

So what say Mifbody? Re-polish everything? Paint the centers black? Powder coat the center and the lip black? Paint the center GOLD!?

Race gold would be killer on the centers.

These have the right offset? They look odd unless they have full pads on them.

6.5" back spacing so I'll need spacers at least on the rear. I think the Baer brakes move the fronts out so I might get lucky and not need another spacer up front. Were your old rims 6.5" bs in the back? Since these are 3-piece I could always order a new outer rim and make a 10.5" wide wheel.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes gold centers, if these where mesh it wouldn't even be a question.

I personally dont like them, whats wrong with the wheels you have currently? Your car looks perfect I wouldnt change a thing as it sits!

I like gold centers on the right car with the right wheel also, but personally I wouldn't use those high-end wheels if that's what you wanted to do. There are many other wheels out there that are better suited to painting/powdercoating in designs that would lend themselves better to gold centers. If I ever do gold on a wheel it'll be the whole wheel.

I'm not planning on selling the current wheels, just seeing what 18s would look like on the TA. These were such a good deal I couldn't pass them up. I agree, the 6th spoke is one too many and I'd like them a lot better with 5, but they do look much better in person.

What's a 4th gen wheel back spacing? I bet these would fit.

they sound like they would fit perfect on a 4th gen. 10" wheel is 7.5 and 8" is 5.5

For a 9 inch wide wheel on the front you will want around a 5.5" BS...that's what my new ones are for the front...keep in mind I also have the additional offset that comes from the rotor hat like you. So you will likely need a 1" spacer for the front.

For the rear you can bolt them on as is but it might look a little goofy. My old 10" wide wheel has a 6" BS and sat just sub flush. My new 12's have 8" BS so I pushed it all to the inside. I'd buy new outer hoops for the rear vs. buying spacers.
