After the Grand National was stolen I have been in search of a car to fill the void. So my buddy called me up and said I found a car for you. 84 Berlinetta all original, clean car. 58,000 miles, not 158,000. The little 2.8 runs great. It still had the original spark plugs in it. This car sat since 1994 and never seen a winter. Floor pans are perfect. So he freshened it up with a new paint job. I bought it. $1600. Here are the only items that are driving me nuts. I haven't dug too far to find the solution to the problem. The dash is all digital, everything is push button. I have never seen one like this. The heater blower motor will not go any higher than low. I try to push the button to make it go higher but nope, nothing. other issue, wipers will not work. I push the button and nothing. Relay maybe? Even the cool swiveling radio works like brand new with it's cool boom box style cassette player. Third problem. Rear hatch will not stay locked. I tore into it a little and I thought it might not be going down all the way and latching, so I tried bringing the latch up and it looks like the thing just doesn't function anymore. Maybe a new latch is in order. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

1badair, are you the guy with the silver car cruising up and down m24 most summer weekends?
I seen that post on yellow bullet. I wonder if there was more of an effort made to find his? It seems like there was more time spent accusing me of stealing my own car rather than taking time to investigate the phone number of the suspect who stole it. The last bit of info I got from any law enforcement was "it's probably oversea's by now".
I believe it is still local and my parts are easily identifiable. I will be looking and looking. Some idiot will screw up sooner or later.

The blower relay would be the first place I would start on that since it works on low and not high. The wiper motor could be bad, they are pretty easy to swap out tho.
I would be VERY interested to see some pictures. I dont believe I have ever seen one like you have described with the digital and push button dash. What are your plans with the car, keeping the 2.8?sigpic

The insurance finally came through. I had some hiccups along the way though. One thing is for sure. Do not believe that the insurance agent is staying on top of your policy and will continue to follow up on it. Basically if you change something check back in a week or so and make sure things actually got changed. I had the car insured for $20,000 and it never happened. Not a week before it was stolen. June of 2009.
I tried to post the pics of the car last night when I started this thread but for some reason I have no idea if it is possible to do it on the iPad. I will fire up the old pc and put the pics on here.
The digital dash with the swiveling radio is sweet, maybe with this car I should say "rad" because it screams 80's, nothing but ballcrusher jeans and big hair. Striped interior is the best stuff ever. I love it, my wife hates it, of course she would.
Parting with the 2.8 liter....... That is such a good question. I ask myself that question every ten seconds. For the sake of nostalgia, I would love to keep it in there. For the thought of, there is nothing that gets my blood pumping like a big bad ass V-8 barking out orders and commanding the road and blowing past most cars on the road like they are anchored. A big old nasty solid cam with a set of AFR's being fueled by a Holley 750, 850 or even the 2 mpg gallon 1050 Dominator. More than likely I will build something special again and hang the 2.8 v6 from my rearview mirror.
Pics will be posted tonight when I get home.
Thanks for all the help fellow F body enthusiasts

I went out to put the license plate on it and fired it up. There is only one bolt on the thing. So I hop in the car to check the console. I tried the wipers and nothing. I ran off to the shed to see if there were some bolts in there I could use for the plate. I come back around the corner and the wipers are going. The damn things don't like to shut off but they will. I figure if you keep pushing the buttons things start to work. I pushed the buttons a few times on the heater and sure enough the fan kicks up a little bit. It sounds like there is an actual squirrel in the squirrel cage. I think I need to pull that blower motor out and see if there is any garbage trapped in it. I guess when a car sits since 94 things tend to need a little massaging then they might work again. Sort of like me crawling out of bed in the morning to go to work. The wipers and heater do work, they just want to work when they are good and ready. Here are the pics, I wish the one of the dash wasn't so blurry. You got to see this contraption I never seen one like this.

I will get some better pics of it. I took the picture with my antique LG phone. I think I might have purchased the car based on the radio. It is one of the strangest vehicle options I have ever seen. Why would the passenger need to swivel it in his/her direction? It's got the floor vent beat on my dad's 1981 straight 6, 3 on the tree Chevy custom deluxe.
