    how about how old is the battery to begin with?

    as in it being dead you have no lights or the car just wont start?

      new battery as of last fall, and its dead as in no lights, wont crank or click or anything, if i try to jump it it just makes the clicking noise.

        get the battery tested imo, i see batterys not that old turn up bad on a daily basis,especially if the battery sits for a extended period of time

          New Starter installed, will see tomarow if the battery is still getting drained, but about 7 diff sourses told me the problem was my starter... will see tomarow!

            i still say get the battery tested too, a bad cell in the battery will cause failure to the rest of the charging system

                You must of told those 7 a different story. Starter won't drain battery just sitting.

                  The heat wrap we had on the '85 TA up at school around the starter was grounding out connections - and would drain the battery all by itself.

                      No, but it does show that the starter can drain your battery. Something could be shorted, causing a draw.
