  • 3rd Gen Wheel/Brake Upgrade

Current tire upgrade: Goodyear F1 GS D3s

    Big Brakes!

    "New" but old wheels:

17x9.5 on all 4 with 275/40 G-Force KDs. 5.5 back-spacing in the rear, 6.0 up front with a half inch spacer. The other three wheels should be done in 2-3 weeks so hopefully I'll have them done for the M&G.

When I get around to swapping gears in the 9-bolt I'm going to install larger backing plates that use a 12" C4 rear disc to match the fronts.

Good news; last three wheels showed up today along with the 1/2" spacers and everything fits as measured. You really have to study the wheels to see the 1/2" difference in back spacing.

Bad news; need longer wheel studs and this probably won't happen before the M&G.

Haha, if you can give me days off from work to press in longer wheel studs I'd be happy to whip them out. I still have to paint the centers black and get the tires mounted. Plus I've got a few other suspension items to install while I'm at it which require a post install alignment. Free time is sparse!

A wheel update within a wheel update thread????

                              Impulse buy:

A little repair and re-finish and they're good to go.
