ya atleast they have a tone of aftermarket blocks out for it... still finding a stock one isnt easy you gonna stroke it at all toss that 3.875 crank in it or maybe the 4.0 ahh the 4.25 make a 454 small block..lol the most you can do on the stock one is the 4.0 and i heard its a pain to do... the 3.875 is the easiest can make it a 421 with that crank... but can your TPI handle it? it doesnt need to rev but it needs alot to breath what are you thinking for the intake?Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. LT1 intakes are junk in my own opinion.....too short of a runner to be useful on a torquey motor such as a 406. Now if you were building a 302......it would be different. I would invest in a Stealthram....they are cheap and make great numbers.Originally posted by MattODoomis the Lt1 intake a bad match for a 406? It will depend on what heads i go with... vortecs would mandate a vortec stealthram.sigpicTurbo Charged LS1/T56

gonna depend what kinda 406 he builds they can still rev pretty well with a 3.75 stroke, there was a 406 at the track reving to 9,000rpm last time i went thing was mean as hell, once you go bigger than that stroke though you limit it to lower 5500 6000 rpm though thats the only thing that i dont like about the big small blocks plenty of TQ and low end but cant rev even if you wanted too. are you gonna convert it over to roller?Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. he says 1500 for it.. but really i just want the short block everything else he has i already have... for a new assembled short block i might be able to go 800-1000 if it has recipts but no higher i could build it myself cheeper.Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. Great Potential....
But, as I like to say...
"All Engines are paper weights until they are in the car and running."
I am not just a quoter, but also a member....
I had my own stroker paper weight for a long bit until I got enough funds to put it in and get it running.
Hope yours comes to life faster than mine..
