The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. My whole thing is build it not bought it. If you don't know how to build and engine now is the time to learn.
IMO its kinda like learning to drive a manual transmission. If you don't know what the F*** your doing, learn on someone else's car.
You can do a lot of damage just taking the engine apart if you don't do it properly/ with caution.
Most people don't have a cherry picker or many of the tools that make removing/installing an engine easy.

It doesnt make much sense to buy a dipping tank and your own machining, balancing, and measuring equipment for one engine build. Thats a great attitude if you have someone elses equipment to borrow.
There is some stuff you can't do like hot tank or bore and hone. But the assembly you can do.

You are right TJ, I do need to learn to do some things on my own because I will probably waste so much money paying shops to do work on my car that I could use towards upgrades for the car. I pondered going to automotive school somewhere once I graduate from grad school soon. As of right now I would rather pay someone to do the job right because I would just tear something up lol.
Thanks for the offer TJ, but I have a few books like that. I actually know about how things work I have loved cars forever, I just have never really took the time to learn how to fix on them.
