Hey Guy's, Ive got a pretty stout smallblock with long Tube Hooker headers. I'm looking to put dual exhaust on it. With the limited space under the car, I was thinking of running some 3" tube, and then using a set of glasspacks, or those Moroso spriral core round mufflers. And have it dump out in front of the rear axle. Does anybody have any experience with the Moroso mufflers? They claim to be quieter than glasspacks without the restriction. Also, do you think the glasspacks would keep it quiet enough so that I'm not getting hassled about it all the time?

well secound try, first didnt work out to well.
i have heard quite a few true dual systems on f bodies, it sounds awesome, they are quite loud, but all the cars around our area are loud anyways. i dont think they will harrass you too much. however roseville cops are pricks. i wanted to go true dual on my car but cant cause of the turbo kit. my dad has a y pipe and dual exhuast, his car is really loud with the flowmaster 40 series muffler on it. alot of the loud mouth kits are loud too, so i think you would be safe with the true duals. i havent really asked about exhuast so i cant comment about the moroso. good luck man..

lol the 4 inch would take as much ground clearance as a pair of 2 1/2 or even 3 inch duals would..lol your gonna loose ground clearnace eaither way but talk to 1bad83TA he has almost exactly that setup its pretty loud but you can always toss a resignator tip on the end to muffle it a bit more and not effect the flowOriginally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. But it's not exactly street legal, so keep it on the down low.

ya but its still gotta stick down a bit my dual 2 1/2 are ok but its no were as tight as a stock setup, they are welded right together tight as can be running back and its still in the way a bit probablly loose a couple inches ,just the physicall size of the 4' pipe its gotta be noticable from the side a bit, you can still lower it but you couldnt ground it thats for sureOriginally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. Have you ever seen how the nascar guys will flatten a tailpipe for ground clearance? It will be about 1 1/2" tall, but about 8" wide.
What I was thinking of was to run a peice of 3" about 16" out of each collector, then head it toward the outside of the car, it will flatten like that on each side, and go underneath the frame ties. Then, there's enough room in the cavity behind each rocker panel to run a smaller dia. round muffler, (Possibly the Moroso spiral core mufflers) ,and then have it dump in front of the rear tires. My welder is just beggin for some use, so I think I'm going to try it within the next week or so.
