Very true, Carl, and good point Todd - with your brother's body shop I don't think you have anything to worry about.
My only question though - I thought you had to paint all the parts on the same day with the same humidity and the same amount of clouds in the sky with the same batch of paint and the same UV index and the same amount of sun flares in the atmosphere... well you get my point
Won't you have issues painting the hood separately like this?

LOL....you have to be picky like me to see it, but I know whats its doing, and i HATE it. I have actually had to cut some of the paint off my car (the candy red and the clear) where the vents are.
I can't repaint the hood...it will do the same thing it's doing now. 15 coats of paint fills in the gaps pretty fast.
I need a different hood. Something flat I can paint. The WS6 ram air hood is not going to happen. That WAY to high for me.
I got a price of $435 plus the $90.00 shipping. That's the lowest he will go.
I guess I need some feedback.

In time I will just have to repaint my stock hood. When we do it again...we will have to paint the vents in the hood to avoid whats going on now.
Like I said its not anything huge. But I like things as close to perfect as I can get.

I can't grind the vents down that much. Because the vents actually slide into the sheet metal that's on the hood to hold it in place. Both the sides and the fronts. (hard to explain)
But we are going to clean the hood up, fit the vents where they need to go, and mold them right into the hood. And then repaint it and try to match it the best we can. If we have to blend a little we can do that also so you wont really be able to tell.
Its nice that its the hood and not a door where you would have to redo the whole side.
We should have thought about that before, but never thought there would be a problem.
But that's a lot better then spending over $500.00 for a hood that looked "OK".
