A 1991 WS6 is a sought after car done right, you having the chance to pick one up cheap is awesome (I also saw the craigslist add for it). The 305 TPI is a better motor not a power horse but very realiable and its fun to drive with the T5 5 speed trans. I am not sure how much a shop would charge to rebuild a T5 or even replace a throw out bearing but the money you would save in the purchase price (compared to the first choice) you could have this car up and running as long as there is no motor work needed. I also agree with not changing the front purely because it is a WS6 either way when you go look at them take a camera and snap a few pictures we could help better then. I also noticed that the 1991 WS6 is in Roseville thats really close to me if you needed a hand checking it out or wanted me to swing by for you if its a drive for you.

not my cup of tea. but thanks for the add look

the car im going to look at is about a half hour away.

im hopeing its just a throw out bearing. b/c my dad know how to do that much lol.

the reason i wanna switch noses is b/c i already had 1991 firebird V6. and the nose likes to scrap even on small inclines. and i had V8 springs on mine.

          my plans are

          1000$ car
          100-500$ for trans
500$ for paint job (macco) i only need it for 4 months then im leaving.
          500$ for headers, y-pipe, 3in cat back.
          has a BBK TB.
if the trans is only a throw out bearing. i might get some new suspension parts. shocks, sway bar bushings, maybe front springs if there really worn.

it should be fast enough. ill still kill the rice burners around here. and hopefully a mustang or two

i know the trans arnt the strongest. he said he swapped in another rebuild 5 speed ( Im praying that its a WC one ) and im gonna just drive the car mostly. hot rod it alittle but im not a abuser.

if i do get it im hoping i can get it finished by the meet and great.

I would do the trans work yourself. The T5 is really easy to work on and especially to replace a throw-out bearing. You would save yourself some cash to spend on the suspension.
