Alright, here's a little build-up thread. It won't be too long so far, although today I should take some pictures and post them as well. It will start with when I got the car, all the way to when I put it all back together and drive it.
Picture of when I got it. As you can see the nose cone is damaged and that weird hood is screwed up in a weird way. That's because the hood pins kept the hood from crinkling more, although it bent my radiator core support a little bit as well.
Side view. As you can see the car sits a little lower in front, part of which is because the car has shackles in the rear. The fenders haven't been pushed back and the body lines up well from this picture.
Another side view. As you can see the tire is severely damaged and is resting on the inner wheel well. The fender also doesn't line up.
The engine. The owner told me that the owner before him wanted this to be a drag car, so supposedly he bored the engine over. Why anyone would bore over a 301 is questionable, but at least it runs well.
All of the body panels put on the car. I got a new hood for $20, that blue fender for $30, and the nose cone for $30. I also took every bolt that was laying around the parts car just in case I might need some bolts.
The first frame I got. It was in decent condition, although we needed to do some welding in order to make it work. I got this from Port Huron for $20, and soon after we were going to have my friend's stepdad do the welding, but then I found a better frame. This became our test frame.
Car when it was lifted up. Looks pretty cool I think. That rear quarter panel has some surface rust on it which I will repair soon.
Getting ready to pull the engine. Unfortunately we couldn't pull it that night because it was already hard enough trying to get all the stuff undone, and that engine just did not want to budge. That frame was in such good condition, too bad it was twisted.
Front view of the engine.
The engine. I had to take a picture of it because it was so hard to get out.
Well that's the story so far, today I'll be getting some more pictures of the good and the bad.

Frontal view of the car. As you can see, the lines aren't doing too good right now.
The frame and one of the headers. I will coat the headers with the high temperature ceramic header paint after the frame is done.
Sandblasting the frame. That sandblaster packs quite a punch. I got hit in the face with it like four times.
Under the dash. As you can see, I have some wiring to do.
The parking brake. See how it is zip tied up like that? I don't know what to do with that, it was like that when I got the car. I also need to put a hood latch under the hood and redo the hood release cable.
The floorboards. They actually aren't bad, that's just about the worst rust underneath the car. I'll be fixing that when I go to coat the frame.
A better shot of the floorboards. Not much rust at all, I should be fixing all of this soon. I'll just coat over the existing rust spots or sand first then coat, and that should be good to go.
