Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Well, bringing this back out because I have an update. In taking pics of some things I snapped off pics of my 80 Camaro in its current state. You saw the pics at the beginning of this thread when it was together, well, here is now............Try not to yell at me, lol.
A former friend put the not so bright idea in my head to strip it down and restore it. When what I should have done is just rebuilt or replaced the engine and kept working on saving for paint and other improvements and still drive it that way. Well then I got married to my first wife who wouldn't let me go work on it and putting money in it was a big no no. It just wasn't worth the hassle with her. Now going on 8 years later, its been moved once. Most of the dust is sand from my dad sandblasting his boat on the other side of the barn last year, it just needs to be blown off.
Anyway, I tore that down so far that now it will cost a few thousand to finish it, It wouldn't be worth going back now. After getting divorced and buying the '99, I can't afford to nor am I in a big hurry to get it together, I have one to drive. Probably, some day a few years from now, I'll have the time and money to finish it. I've got some parts, new doors, fender, hood, rebuilt Muncie M-20 4-spd tranny, brand new shifter, 4.10 gears in the rear have about 2000 miles on them, new Centerforce Dual Friction clutch with maybe 1000 miles on it, new hi flow water pump. I think that's about it. I know, its kinda sad, but I had to share it with you all...
That sux!!! I wish there were someway that, oh, I don't know, we could get that thing running again! You have quite a project on your hands, I can't wait until you are able to finish it! When you do start it, it will finish quicker than you thought. My dad's monte carlo sat in a barn, unmoved, for 8 years. We had the engine and tranny rebuilt in a summer, and it is sitting in the garage waiting for nice weather and a new set of tires now. Good luck, and let us know when you start in on that sexy beast!
thanks Nick. Not till I have the '99 running 10's!!! lol. I have no idea when, I don't even have a place for it at my house, so its staying at my parent's untill a time comes when I do have room or have to move it.
Classic looks with modern technolgy, Good way to go B. Could just buy the '09 Camaro when it comes out, save the work, lol.
Actually, I've been toying with something for awhile. I love the 70-73 camaro's, especially the split bumper. To me its the cleanest best looking camaro ever, specially in Hugger Orange, lol. Anyway, with those becoming ever increasingly scarce, and cost rising, and me having a very straight and solid 2nd gen that is a hard top 4-spd car already. I've toyed with getting the front end parts (fenders, nose, bumpers, etc.) and rear valance to make mine look like a 70 split bumper (I think that's the year of the split or one of em). All the aftermarket repro parts are available, just have to buy them. I really don't think it would be a big deal, seeing all that is off the car anyway. IDK, what do you guys think?
uh-oh, the guy who likes his modern front ends has switched to the dark side of retrofitting!!! *gasp!!!!!*
jp man, i would definitely go for it, especially if your camaro has the steel front bumper. early second gens and really late ones were the best looking... it was the ones in between that were kinda bland. (keyword kinda, they all looked good)
