Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
that's one hell of a project you got there!... the "dirty picture" when you first got it...those rim/tire combo looks like it's strait out of "Joe Dirt"....that's funny. kick ass ride though!
very nice and clean for the age... there are a couple 2nd gens flying around here really nice but still under 5 grand... that was my first f-body so it will probably always be my favorite 79 camaro z28 cough cough with a 396 BB in it ya i had it when i was young and didnt get to keep it long...lol

I love the 2nd gen, but it wasn't till I bought this one that I did. My first camaro was an 83 3rd gen, and a buddy had a 79 at the same time. Well, now I'd rather have a 2nd gen over a 3rd, in fact 3rd gens are my least favorite. Anyway, sad thing is, I haven't touched that car in about 5 years, its got about a 1/8" of dust on it and boxes stacked on it. Basically, if I had a motor and a few bucks for paint I could put it back together. I was gonna try to paint it at one time, but I probably won't now, just pay for it. Its a solid car. only one bad rust spot just in front of the driver side rear tire. Its a 4 spd car too, I went through 2 saginaw trannys and finally I bought a Muncie for it. I've also got a centerforce dual friction clutch that has maybe 500 miles on it, and the muncie tranny has less than 1000 on a rebuild. It also has the good 10 bolt rear in it too. Not quite a 12 bolt but close, only difference is the ring gear isn't as thick. Its even a power window car, I have 2 hoods, 2 sets of doors, a new nose. Just need a couple grand for a motor and paint. Oh, and I sold the wheels to buy a cat back for the 99 last year. So better make that 3-4K, eh, probably $5k just to get it on the road and looking decent. Maybe someday. Oh, there is a brand new shifter still in the box too, lol.
for the amount of power they can handle they are nice but all f bodys have there own unique qualitys... i still like 3rd for handling and 4th for power... but what you can do to a 1st or 2nd and make them go in a straight line is great a big motor and a nice strip they are killer...and its way easier to toss a bb in a 2nd or 1st than it is to toss it in a 3rd or 4th... i might still try to find a beater one just for a drag car to strip down and just use at the track...

I see all kinds of 1st gen camaros at Milan Dragway every year. They seem to be the favorites now. They are lightweight, strong, and you can stuff any motor GM makes under the hood of one.
I want a project fbody! I feel bad for all the older fbodies going to the scrapheap. I wanto to adopt them all and fix them up and have an fbody fleet! Yeah 401K! Who needs Social Security Now Biaches! Yeah!
