Thanks Dan. It is coming along. I got a price on a windshield this week. Ill hopefully get that done next month. Then I can start swapping interior/dash parts after that. I dont want to install the upper pad and jave it get broken removing the windshield.
Then I need to get a fuel pump. I have to swap out the rear end. The rear end has to come out to drop the tank . So that means I need to get the rear end cleaned up and painted. That way I only have to wrestle with it once. And I might as well install the exhaust while the rear end is down lots easier that way.
And I havent needed to touch my welder at all yet! This is way easier this way.lol

Cleaned and painted the rear end today. Looks ok. Still need to clean the rear arms and brace so they can get painted. Sway bars and brackets too, front and rear. Lots to do! One step at a time.
Its going to be tough to get that pig of a rear end back in without screwing the paint up.Right after this picture it promptly fell off the jack

What did you use to clean the rear axle? Did you sand blast it or just clean it up a bit and use POR-15?

I used a couple wire wheels on a 4 inch grinder. Some phosphoric acid to kill/convert the remaining rust. And purple cleaner to make sure its clean. Then I sprayed with chasis paint by Iron Armor from Harbor freight. Looks pretty good so far. We'll see how it lasts.

Old 6 banger rearend is out. The new, posi has sensors on each wheel, the original only has a sensor that goes into the pumpkin. Will the 2 sensorleaks. end work if I plug it in? Or do I need to install the sensor in the pumpkin?

So I scrubbed the bottom of the car, it was pretty gross. The old engine was passing oil out of the exhaust for a good while, on top of some good keaks.
I might pull the fuel tank tonight. Depends on my energy level after dinner. Or finish pulling the interior so I can scrub the carpet.
Need to order my fuel pump. And line up the glass Guy. Were getting there....
