I would have purchased a shorter radiator or had a custom radiator made before cutting up the core support to that extent.
I have plans of making a forward facing radiator with a heat extractor hood next year.

Considering this is pretty much a must for turbo cars, id say there is no problem cutting it out this way, as one of the biggest posts i've seen on the subject use this same setup and radiator to do this. If you keep core support in tack totally your gonna end up a radiator so short it won't do much in the way of cooling anyways. but to each their own, Thanks [MENTION=193]meissen[/MENTION]94 Z28, Pacesetter Longtubes, free mods, K&N cold air intake, slp lm1

I would fix up the welds, But there is no problem cutting the core support out. I wouldn't have worries about structural support.

BUT, i am painfully familiar with the mindset that turbo isnt for everyone
