  • Value of 4th gen parts

I'm looking for a used LS1 and auto trans. The price people want for them I was just thinking about buying a complete car since prices are coming down. I was thinking about driving it for a while then when I'm ready to put it in my 1st gen pull it and part the car out. Is there much market for these parts. All I would want is the Motor, Trans and computer. The rest I would part out. How much would you guys think I could get back? I've seen a couple with salvage titles that were repaired you can get these pretty reasonable.

Unfortunately most of the value in these cars, parts wise is in the engine-transmission.
When in doubt, Whip it out !

Depends on the interior color and condition. But for the most part i agree with the above.

IMO just but a 5.3 or 6.0 and build it yourself. Buy a t56 from rpm or one of the major t56 shops.

Yup, agreed with the above, even Detroit Gear charged us $200 for a core charge, because we didn't bring him one, which is still cheaper then these guys selling high mileage or burned up units. This being on a 4l60e with some upgraded goodies.

My buddy found a t56 from a wrecked gto in ohio for dirt cheap, had a busted main shaft, replaced that upgraded some things still cheaper then some used take outs. So the deals are out there, just gotta look, and when you find it, have cash and go them quick
