  • car seat ?

i have a 95 trans am and i wanna start bringing my daughter with( shes almost 4 )..i havent tryed yet but im pretty sure her car seat wont fit in back seat...can she ride in front ? my wife says back seat only is the law but that cant b true cuz i have a standard cab truck and she can ride in front of it. wat u guys doin ?

your wife is right, find a car seat that works for the back. it also says on the sun visor as well, however on the standard cab truck, there isn't any other place for her to sit, so yes in the truck she can be up front, but I would turn off the airbag. My 2000 s-10 would let me turn it off with the key. Airbags and young kids don't go good together in the front, they can give more harm then good

Do NOT put her in the front seat, you want to make sure your child is as safe as possible and the front seat in any car is not the safest place. The law states that they must be at least 13 years old to ride in the front seat with an airbag and the only exception would be if you already had 2 other kids in the back seat and the front seat allowed you to turn off the air bag. How do other cars like corvetters do it??? They don't thats why its not a family car, please put your childs safety as more of a priority than your nitrous bottle in the back seat.

Personally if i was trying to put my child in the back seat of my car. there is no way in hell i would have a nitrous bottle next to them anyway. if you want your child to ride with you. at least take the bottle out

I have had an infant style seat in the back of mine before but it was real tight in the passenger seat for my wife so not something we did often. I have not tried our current seats but they are very large as they can be used up to 65lbs and my 5 year old will likely stay in them for another year. I can imagine it would not be an easy process.

I found it easiest to remove the back seat (back and bottom) in order to fit my daughter's car seat. I also installed GM p/n 12455614 according to TSB 99-09-40-004a. According to this TSB everyone with a car 1999 and older is allowed (1) free kit per VIN. Dealer cost is $90

Ditch the nitrous and put 2 car seats in the back. The front seats are going to have to be forward quite a bit to fit but it works fpr me and i'm 6'3"

It is pretty tight, but work it out. I have 4 seats that all fit, it is tight though. I highly, highly recommend the Diono RadianRXT. They are built like a fighter jet seat. aluminum and steel frame. Memory foam. They are design to fit 3 across in a mid size car. Also, they are the only seats that released all their crash test videos for you to watch. In addition, they didn't think FMVSS rules were tough enough so they tested their seats at twice the rules and they still passed. We have two of them now and will most like (depending on ages of the third) have three. Very very nice. Expensive, but nice. Wish we all had the anchor points on our cars. mounting the seats is a lot tougher without them. Good luck.

I have used a rear facing Graco in my convertible (snug ride 65) and I now have a Graco Nautilus in there. If it can fit in my 'vert, I think it can fit in a coupe. Very had less "width" back there IIRC.
