Ok, thats good. But now the question is do I want to? Would it be worth it? 96 convertible I would have around $2500.00 in when done. I would have to bring home the donor, strip it. Get rid of the junk. Bring home the roller. drop the k member. Do the swap. Get rid of the junk motor. My Z would have to sit outside while I did all this too. Im not diggin that idea. decisions decisions......

I am not an expert on 3.8s, but the 99+ cars are drive by wire which means it probably at least has a different throttle body, pcm, and harness. Cable drive FTW you dont want that laggy DBW sh**

I will NEVER pull or install a motor from the top on a 4th gen again.
Is that a good indication?

Yep, dropping it out the bottom is definitely way easier.Originally posted by hoogiesngrinderz View PostI will NEVER pull or install a motor from the top on a 4th gen again.

Ok, but is out the top that bad, or is out the bottom just that much easier.
I'm figiring it'll be worth $3500, -$4000 all done. Maybe a bit more, I still need to go look at the roller, its supposed to be nice.
The other oroblem is......I'm afraid Ill want to keep it.

I've thought this through. If I did a v8 it would have to be an ls. Then I would never sell it. Cant get my $ out of it if I'm driving it. Heck even if I did an lt I'd still keep it.
No, no......I dibt have room for anither car, or the money...or the time. Still.........hmmmmmmm....
