  • 96 camaro z28 no start (no fuel/no spark)

Im at a loss for this car at the moment. I dont know what to do with it anymore. So heres the story

I took the car out a couple months ago before it started to snow. I was taking it around the block and when I got to my last corner, I got on it a little bit. Wish I hadnt because it died half way through 1st gear. I lost power to my fuel pump, no spark. I replaced the icm because it was bad, the ignition fuse was blown so I fixed that, and I bought a new opti and I still have nothing. my security light is on. I bypassed that but its still on.

any idea? Anything would be great and much appreciated.

check for loose grounds inside the steering column? how about under the dash ? does the car sit a lot ?

The car has sat for 3 months now with a dead battery. Ive been pulling thw battery out of my firebird when I try to mess with it. Ive checked grounds. And everything was good. Could it be possible that my pcm is bad?

check all the fuses, under the hood and inside drivers side dash. then follow back from fuel pump test point. Passenger side top of wheel well. measure from engine block grd. Don't through parts at it that will cost a fortune.

I did find something. Not sure where it leads though. I was searching online and I went thrpugh all the pins that need power to the computer and come to find out that in the blue section #3 pin (pink wire) is not getting power. I jumped it with a wire to the battery and it turned on my fuel pump to prime it and the ses finally came on. With the wire not jumped, no fuel pump and no ses light on when key is turned on. Could it be a faulty ignition switch?

circuit number 239 B3 is PCM ignition feed, you could be right on the faulty ignition switch. I would track the wire into the ignition and test it for continuity if you have it without fault then I would say its a bad ignition switch

Does your radio come on with the key on?

Blue connector is "D" so D3 is PCM key on feed ("B" is the black connector) Circuit 439 is the info I have.

I actually dont have a radio in the car at the moment. I took it out to put in my firebird for the winter. I do recall when I was checking a different radio, it did power on though.

I was off a little bit. Drop the steering column so you can start probing the connector. The connector is known to get crispy as well.

                        Red wire - 12v feed
Brown wire - 12v in ACC or RUN - feeds to radio, windows, and wiper fuses
Orange wire - 12v in RUN only - feeds turn signal & backup light, Fans, HVAC, and ABS IGN 5amp fuses
Pink wire - 12v in RUN and START - feeds power to PCM, air bag, gages, INJ 1 & 2, and IGN 10amp fuses
Yellow wire - 12v in START only - crank fuse and safety switch feed

Ok. So I finally checked the ignition switch and it was all good. But the computer is still not turning on unless I jump it with a wire.

I went ahead and double checked the power feeds at the computer and found out now that I dont have powrr with the key on at black connector pin #30 pink wire for 12v for ignition feed with key on.
