Well just hope your car doesnt end up like my 94 cutlass... rear quarters are rusted to piss, big holes in them around the wheel well and the gas tank rusted through

i toss 2 or 3 bottles of just plain old dry gas in the tank to keep moisture out.. take the battery out fully charge it and leave it out. do fluid changes before its put away, and just spray down the intake with carb/FI cleaner get it nice and block it right off.. but this winter its getting worked on again so its just going to be going up and down all winter in a pull barn and a new motor tossed in..

Really? Then why is there so much rust under my car?

for outside storage, any cover recomendations? I have ttops and I assume the whole point of the cover is to protect the door jams and cracks from water and ice.

We just make sure the gas tank is toped off, park it on carpeting in my mom's 3rd stall garage, dust it off 1 last time , cover it and go back and start her up once a month.

I will be storing mine outside also:

Complete cleaning before storage. I will be covering my car first with a soft cloth car cover and then i will be putting a ~20ft x 12ft 12mil tarp over the car cover. Then i will lace the tarp edges up under the car crossing them back and forth. I will be putting carpet tile pieces under my tires. And putting the Damprid in my car as sugested previously. I will also be takeing some cotton towels and stuffing them in my Intake, Exhaust, and the place where my car suck in the air for interior ventilation. This will help keep rodents and bugs out. Will also be putting some air fresheners in the car.

Be careful with tarps. My sister put her taurus under one for 6 months and it f*cked up the paint. Thats why car covers are multilayered and designed to let the paint breath.

Good call man, this would have been my 1st year trying the tarp. Thanks.

I guess I will try to find a breathable water resistant car cover.

                          Thanks again Ben.

I agree completely, allowing the paint to breath is very important in keepin the paint job in good shape. As harsh as Michigan winters are, a thicker, breathable one would be ideal, even though it cost more. A new paint job would cost a lot more!!

yea word on the covers. unless you have a really good one youre better off leaving it in the elements.

I keep mine all wrapped up in a california car cover all winter with a trickle charger on the battery. I start it up on nice days atleast two to three times a month and let it run till its hot.
