  • Went out 30 min or so ago. Hit the key and it started. The problem seems to be gone. But I'll swap the icm and try that

    • Well I'm pissed bummed and screwed.

What can I do about this? I'm thinking because I can't
Find patch panels and I'm not paying 2 grand for pans
      I'm thinking patch it somehow.

Its even bigger now because I knocked out
All the soft spots. Its roughly 12 wide and 14 long.

I haven't checked the other side yet.

        • With an area that bad you are looking at finding a donor car or spending the money on new pans. You could find a metal fab guy to fix it but it won't be any cheaper unless he doesn't value his time.

          • A 12x18 piece of sheet metal covers it. So I'm tempted to sheet metal screw it in with some silicone until I can have it all done. Maybe do it till winter time rolls around and do it the right way then

            • That's one way to do it, but it would bug the shit out of me knowing it's there

I'd say $1500 minimum for pans and labor to make it right.

              • Yeah its going to irritate me too. But 1500$ for it to be made right just isn't an option for me right now. I'll hunt around at scrap yards for f body's and go nuts with a drill and saw when I find a good set of pans.

I've yet to see what the drivers side looks like. Wish me luck lol.

                • You think 26 gauge steel is good for this patch? Its zync plated

                    • Yikes that's one big hole. Unfortunately it's rather common on our cars.

                      • Welp patched it by doubling up the 26 gauge steel then pop riveting it to the floors. Worked like a charm. They're solid as a rock.

Also found me a 150mph speedo with 40k miles on it. Paid 30$ and got a brand new white faced led overlay. Can't beat that. The overlay alone is 60$ on eBay. Cluster is 125$

                        • Good to hear. I'd recommend using seam sealer down below for the time being. Blend it well and undercoat so it doesn't stand out - but please disclose the issue if you sell the car Nobody likes be chased down by a guy with a baseball bat.

                          • I plan on keeping this car for a very long time. I'm starting to learn new things with it and I'm liking that lol.

Plus I have a big cube LS swap in mind soon once TRYMEH pulls his ls1 out.

                            • Get the car right before jumping into an engine swap. It wouldn't be wise to plop in a hellacious motor when you can Fred Flinstone your car A solid foundation should be priority number one.

                              • Floor pans aren't really my worry its having the work done.
The labor costs are what's going to make me worry lol.

But I found me a 150mph speedo so I plan to see just how
Far towards that 150mph mark it will go. I'm sure it won't have a problem getting there lol
