I really don't have the cash right now. Been laid off all July due to the ford plant retooling. So I figured the 15$ filter kit and fluid isn't a bad gamble.

Im gunna start by pulling the pan off and let that be the judge on what to do. I just thought it was weird how it was out of the blue. Now when cold it does go into reverse and will shift into all the gears. ONly when it gets warmed up it no longer wants to cooperate.

check the filter, sounds like your loosing your line pressure someplace, and double check the O-ring too

Which O ring? THe one that seals the filter? And the filter comes out by just pulling it correct?

Here's how I do it:

Remove all the pan bolts EXCEPT for one on each corner. Determine the lowest corner and loosen that bolt until it is 3/4 of the way out. The two bolts on the adjacent corners I loosen to about 1/2 way out. The opposite corner from the lowest I back out 1/4 of the way. If you got it right, it should pour out of one corner.

I get bored

I'm trying to get myself back into the garage...but I'm not interested in the Camaro or the 5.3 build right now I had to force myself to finish the T5, but I'm not even motivated to ship it out even though I have a guy who wants to pay good money for it. Maybe it's the lack of vitamin d and social interaction

Just like you guys thought theyre was some shavings. Im gunna do a filter and just drive it the rest of the season then get a TH400. They'res not that much but any shavings isn't good. I just want a temp fix which isn't the Way I like to do things but the trans is already shot but rather drive it then watch it sit.

That's fine too. Unfortunately I don't have the funds too get a new trans. THe trans is already done in my eyes. It can't hurt it any worse to put a new filter in it and get some time out of it. It's either this way or it just sits till next year.

Agreed. It isn't long for this world. Those are big particulates.

Add: $100 fluid/filter/Gasket
Add: $80-120 Tow bill
Add: Rental Car for the week: $250
Time: $$
Safety on the side of the road: $$$$

Hopefully this doesn't happen for you..but I think it's inevitable with the damage that's been done.
That's why folks have said save the cash. You'll have $470 spent on a dead trans before you even get started.

I have road side assistance that covers towing.
This isn't my daily driver, more of a weekend toy.
Rough ball park but how much would I be looking at with putting a TH400 not including the price of the trans
