There are a couple of instructional videos on youtube of guys doing a cam job on a Lt1 with the engine still in the car.sigpic

Remove radiator and tilt AC condenser back. No need to discharge it.
Can be done in a few hours
I'm with Larry though. Hotcam is a waste of time. A good 224 cam will have good manners and make more power.

I would think you need to change valve springs with cam. That means pulling the heads, or have compressor to hold valves up.sigpic

You don't need to pull the heads or motor to put valve springs in an LS F-body. Don't even need a compressor.
