Thats because he has dealt with so much junk lt1 stuff. He assumed i had a stroker when he put my car in the dyno

After seeing that street pounding 325RWHP that red 383 car made that day I bet he thought yours was 400+ Cubes!

Yeah I couldn't believe the 383 was making the same HP as me.

Thats the problem with people. Incorrect setup.

Increasing cubes allows you to use more air. If you can't get the air in, its pointless. Such as stock heads on a 383. Say the engine stock is 85% VE, thats 298ci of air it will use. So now a 350 is 91% of a 383. With a 383 and stock heads you are still only letting in the same amount of air.

Anyways, bigger cubes without better flowing heads is like drinking a beer out of a straw. If you have a 12oz can you can only intake so much. If you use a 24oz can you have more room for beer but you can still only intake the same amount.

Thats absoultely right but with LT1s theres more to it than that even... LT1s seem a lot fussier about components being matched. You cant just toss whatever on and make power like ls1 guys seem to be able to do.

If a stock 350 was using all that the stock heads can flow, i wouldnt be making 370rwhp with stock runners ... Which is exacty my point. People throw money at heads all the time when their air filter and exhaust setups are still the limiting factor.

That guy did have stock heads and a pretty small cam from what i remember, which did render the stroker kit pretty pointless.

I'm not saying its just the heads its also the valvetrain. The top end is what lets the bottom end breath. Also obviously is the intake and exhaust.

Then we agree, i just need to my public service of debunking the stock-heads-suck myth... Ive won a lot of races with stock heads

Stock heads will flow 223 at .5 lift. So throw in a cam just under .6 like your cam and you're getting the most out of the stock heads pretty much.

Yep they are probably my limiting factor in terms of airflow... But if i get rid of that limiting factor ill be finding an optispark limiting factor pretty quick

Congrats on the time! that's moving! I went a 10.30 or something around there at Lapeer once and felt I needed to change my britches afterwards, that track is sketchy!
