  • Battery keeps dying!

Ok, so my battery dies every time if I don't drive it for about 24 hours.. My passenger side mirror always points down at the ground after a certain amount of time but I have no idea how long it takes for it to use the battery to point itself down.. i don't know if it's a short or what but it seems like this may be the issue. I had my repair shop check out the alternator and he said that it doesn't have any issues recharging the battery and my battery is also brand new. I bought a new one thinking that this was my issue but it's not!
Any ideas why it's being drained?

put a amp meter between the + terminal and the connector. you shouls see current draw for 30 seconds after you shut the door. A bad door switch could let the BCM on and draw battery down. I would start at the battery see how much you draw. the start pulling fuses to see which circuit it is in.
Have you rewired radio or anything? A diode in alternator can short out and draw battery down also I have seen this as an intermitant failure.

Sounds like the mirror switch or wiring is shorted to power if the mirror moves by itself. Try pulling the fuse that powers up the mirror and see if the battery still goes dead. If so then use a shunt (jumper wire) between the negative battery cable and battery post and let the body modules go to sleep in about 1/2 hour. Hook up a digital multi meter on the 10 amp scale and connect it between the negative battery cable and battery post and then remove the jumper wire and see what the meter is showing in amps. Less than 50ma is good on any car. If higher, start removing fuses one at a time until the draw goes away.

Great I'll have a buddy come over with a multimeter and we'll check it. Hopefully it's something simple like that and I don't need a new alternator

Any idea which fuse is the one for the passenger mirror? most of my fuse mapping text is worn off..
