Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

As far as driving experience goes, I was happy with the bolt-on LT1, considering I was used to driving the same car with a V6 3.8l.
But now I am kinda wanting more, it's not enough. Plus, now that I have another car, it won't hurt me to down mine.
I had the hot cam in my car for about a year and was a little disapointed with it. It sounded good and had a nice idle, but the performance just wasn't there for me. My car is currently getting a cam swap as we speak. I went with a 232/240 lloyd elliot cam and some trick flow heads. Some people like AI better, but either way I would go with a custom grind cam vs. the hot cam. The custom cams are pretty fair priced too.

a custom ground cam with be tailord to your cars current set-up. do some thinking think about what you want out of your car (rpm/H.P. goal/quarter mile time) shelf cams are for people who either dailly drive or just want a general ball-park of power. custom ground cams are tuned in for your car weight/trans/gear/heads/ect... witch is the way to unlock good usable H.P. and torque. try not to copy un-less they have the very same set-up that you have. copying a came and have just a differance in transmissions could make a world of differance.
depends on what valve springs you have but as longa s you have a set of Comp 26918-16 bee hive springs, 795-16 retainers, 611-16 locks and set them up at 1.770-1.780", we can use a 228/236 .576/.571 110 LSA. This will work with the 2500 stall and 3.42 gears. It will make lots of mid range power and pull to 6300 RPM with stock heads.
A good Yank SS 3600 stall will make the car MUCH faster in the 1/4 mile and still be very drivable. The 3.73 gears will help the car accelerate faster also.
Once you install ported heads, it will work even better and pull to 6500 RPM.
$300 for the custom cam, $250 for the Comp 26918-16 bee hive springs, 795-16 retainers and 611-16 locks.
Just get some new seals, flat shims for the springs to set them up at 1.770-1.780, 1.6 roller rockers, good pushrods and computer tuning.
the 110 lsa will make your car sound much more agresive, im surprized he recomended behive springs. he's a big one for using patriot spring even though they have been on back order for a month now. useually he will direct you to lunatis springs as a secound resort. sounds like a good combo though.
the way i do things is i use loyde for camshafts and A.I for cylinder heads. although they both due a good job on both
a gasket set and fluids like oil and coolant. but list looks alright for now. i didnt have to replace my pushrods but its def good insurance if you can get them for a good price.
I know I will need more odds and ends, any suggestions, or any better prices any where?
dont order you pushrods till you have checked the length. throwing in any pushrod can and will throw off your valve train geometry. other than that make sure you get some gaskets. and even though you don't have to its always good pratice to replace your lifters with the cam. with roller lifter like your you can get away with-out replaceing them. but when you add new spring pressure and differant rocker it always a high chance that the plunger in the lifter will go bad or that the bearing in the rollers may fail. good luck.
You might want to check speedengineering.com. That is where I got my comp rocker arms, and they were cheaper than anyone else by far. I also got a lunati spring kit from lunati for $225.
