So, the best idea would be to get an AI like Joels, or have Lloyd Elliot grind me something nice.
I plan on heads in the future, so I'd like a cam that will play well with both.

Its cheap insurance and i believe not having one is the biggest reason people ever spin bearings. I've run the dog piss out of my stock 100k bottom end and its mint. Its been road raced, autocrossed, and drag raced over and over again.

GM WHITE SPRING is a spring you install in your oil pump will raise oil pressure. You can buy it at any GM dealer I run one in my pump. Do a search on LS1 Tech lots of info and part number

Hopefully that cam can knock off 1.5 seconds off your 1320 times. I'll be ready.

Yep its like a 2 dollar part. The problem is getting to the oil pump... Easiest to just pull the engine for the entire job.

Its a spring that controls the excess pressure bleedoff. Before my car would never exceed 40 psi, now it gets close to 70 at full throtte

I wish I would have known about the white spring when my cam was put in. Too late know. I picked up like 7 mph from my cam and injectors, hopefully more once i get long tubes and a dyno tune.

                        Got this from LloydElliot

depends on what valve springs you have but as longa s you have a set of Comp 26918-16 bee hive springs, 795-16 retainers, 611-16 locks and set them up at 1.770-1.780", we can use a 228/236 .576/.571 110 LSA. This will work with the 2500 stall and 3.42 gears. It will make lots of mid range power and pull to 6300 RPM with stock heads.

A good Yank SS 3600 stall will make the car MUCH faster in the 1/4 mile and still be very drivable. The 3.73 gears will help the car accelerate faster also.

Once you install ported heads, it will work even better and pull to 6500 RPM.

$300 for the custom cam, $250 for the Comp 26918-16 bee hive springs, 795-16 retainers and 611-16 locks.

Just get some new seals, flat shims for the springs to set them up at 1.770-1.780, 1.6 roller rockers, good pushrods and computer tuning.

Lloyd's cams are made by comp cams. I think he used to have some issues with the drive gear damaging the oil pump gear, but now he gets a cast gear pressed on the cam to prevent that from happening. Sounds like a good combo he recommended for you. He recommended a lunati spring kit for me instead of the beehive springs.
