  • k&n cold air intake: do they work?

so, i spent pretty much the whole day removing and installing the k&n cold air intake system off of my brother's camaro just for the hell of it. i even recharged the filter before i put it onto my car. i haven't had a chance to go out and test it, but im curious whether or not ill really gain anything. i had a k&n cone on my stock intake before.

    thoughts?

I've always been torn on this, you probably won't feel any change at all, but you might pick up a few ponies on a dyno.. Definitely not worth the price K and N charges new.

on all 3 lt1 cars that i had, i bought the new k&n cold air intake system. in addition to that, i did the throttle body bypass and the aluminum alir foil. i swore i noticed a difference.. but you never know till you put it on a dyno (which i never did)

Yes not worth it, but if you can get them used they make the engine bay look really nice

i just drove it around. it feels like it accelerates twice as quick, but maybe thats just me.

              over a stock filter/airbox - definite gain
over a cone filter on the stock "thing" - you probably wont feel any gain.

On my 04 GTP it sure picked up some hp. Not to mention hearing that supercharger scream when you get on it.
