my defrost works just fine and I have no ac.

Fred- I modded my heater box so that it is flush with the firewall (looks just like joes), yet still has full heat. heat actually seems to work better than ever now that I did this mod. I have full control of what vents I want to open. Defrost works great, heat blows HOT. That plate is a piece of 1/8" thick aluminum powdercoated black (it is just dirty in the pic)

    • definitely not ditching power steering, this is a road course car I plan on flushing that fluid out and installing coolers.

Ryan, defrost still works without AC, but it works better with the compressor because de-humidified air through the system dries moisture faster.

oh I see what he meant. I cant even tell a remote difference.

Joel- just to get your idea machine working... how cool would it be to have an alternator setup like mine and fab up a bracket for the drivers side if the engine and use an LS1 style PS pump (with attached reservoir). The PS lines would not have to go far as they'd plug into the rack right there

I like where you are going with that. Im gonna have to do some picture research... Im definitely not a fan of the LT1 accessory bracket and the powersteering pump that wraps around it. If im gonna be frying pumps at the track thats the last thing i wanna deal with

nope! its about as much of a street car as a shopping cart now!

                  • I heard Walmart is installing A/C on all thier shopping carts, lol. Todays deffinition of a street car has been set pretty high. You pretty much have to set your own goals and bench marks and go from there. As long as your happy with it, and it does what you want, its a win. Eric L

                      • Nowhere in your "deffinition" does it say it has to be fast. It has to be fast. It should read, " A vehicle that appears stock, and no creature comfort acessories removed (air conditioning, etc), has a full exhaust, can be driven across the country, and run at least 12 seconds in the quatermile."
