Going to begin this soon, and i have a few questions.
the lid will clear a factory Ls1 ram air hood right?

This write up doesnt even apply to you. You have the envied luxury of being able to bolt on the entire setup without cutting/modifying anything!

But I still need to add the ls1 rad support to lean the radiator back and cut the crossmember for the filter to fit right?

No. You get the parts and bolt them on

Edit: yes you need the ls1 radiator support (high rise version if you want ram air), but you wont be leaning the radiator back

That doesn't make any sense. I have the same LT1 engine bay and such lol

See my edit... Was kind of a yes and no question. The only thing you have to fabricate is the connections from lid to maf to tb. This mod only leans the radiator back in my case because i purposely relocated the mounting holes to achieve hood clearance.

See I thought you leaned it back to get airflow to the filter.

                Edit is there a powerloss if I don't use a ws6 support ?

Wont really matter in your case. Bottom feeders are proven the best performer but a factory functioning ram air is cool too. Either way youll see a noticeable gain in the high rpms

Bottom feeder meaning the non ram air lid or like a k&n style lt1 intake ?

Joel you running a factory water pump or electric? I know my csr has a tiny bit of the fan shroud chopped off of it to clear the water pump... How much as a guess did you have to lean the radiator back?

Electric and i had to chop just a bit also. Probably leaned it back an inch.

Momentary Thread Hijack: Joel, I am getting ready to do LS1 lid. I plan to follow your write up. Is it any easier with the 96-97 ram air hood?

Yes, your hood has more clearance. I could be wrong but i think it will fit under your hood as is without modification also. Edit: if not, you may be able to get away with trimming the bottom of the rad support so that it sits lower.
