  • LT1 Down Again

I knew it would happen, but it happened at the worst time. Last night at the Marshall Cruise as I was driving through down town the clutch pedal started to vibrate really bad when I pushed it in. Pulled into a parking space, figured it was too hot. A little bit later I tried to move my car to a better spot and all it did was squeak when I had the clutch pushed it. Turned it off. Now it wont even start.

Throwout bearing didnt get changed last time the clutch got changed, I am now dealing with the results. I believe I will be needing a new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Will I have to have the flywheel worked on?

Any advice? We will be doing this ourselves.

I want to put a stock- like clutch back in, the stage 2 RAM that was in it was too much.

no, I think the clutch is broke and stuck against the flywheel. Wont even turn over. At least, thats what I am hoping for.

i'd probably take the flywheel to the shop just in case and have them make sure everything is ok before you get everything back together.

all depends what actually happened. at the very least you need to have the flywheel turned for the new clutch anyway.

What's It cost to have the flywheel done vs buying new?

getting a flywheel turned is not that expensive. 15-30 bucks.

You'd be a moron to not have the flywheel turned if you replace the clutch. Just as bad as the last owner not installing a new throw out bearing. You're already there and its cheap. Why the hell wouldn't you?
