Need help with annoying squeak!

was there more you needed to do than lifters? That seems like more work than necessary. Removing the intake manifold isnt hard with the engine in the car...

I also had a bad drivers side head gasket, so to me it was easier to drop engine to pull heads and replace lifters. to hard to pull exhaust manifolds with engine in car. (I know it can be done) I was expecting at least 1 or 2 bolts to snap off.

where would I get these lifters on short notice? also, how dire is this issue? I was planning a roadtrip to visit some friends in Indianapolis this weekend. I was actually planning on being gone by now, but the frickin' dealer pulled the belt, checked the stuff out, and let it sit there. I made it clear that I wanted to pick it up over lunch. They called at 10:15 to tell me their diagnosis, and that's when i asked them to remove the belt and see what they got. I called them at quarter to 1 and the belt still wasn't back on. Now i gotta wait for a ride from somebody so I can get the car and get going. I'm going to be 3 hours behind schedule because that stupid dealer can't make a 2-minute phone call once they're done. I'm pissed.

You can get lifters at any Oreilleys or auto zone or dealer. do all of them. Sounds like you would be better off to have dealer or service center do the job.

So the water pump has gone out on my car (one major reason why I had to leave it home). Do you think that could've been the culprit of the noise?
