I would think your biggest issue would be wiring. I have owned both, and I guess I dont pay much attention to the dash board in a styling sence, cause I didnt mind either one. Eric L

I've done it. It's a bit of work but I think it's worth it - the 97+ dash is so much better than the 93-96. Like Eric said - your biggest concern will be the wiring. You'll need to entirely rewire the gauge cluster plug and switch over some things for the HVAC, lights, rear defrost, etc.- Brian Meissen

yep X3. most of the early dashes are cracked and faded to hell. When you come across a nice one they look really good though.Originally posted by alone_and_insane View Postnope, I'm with you here on this one

Lol, like I said, I have had both, and didnt mind either. I like the center square pod/console on the 97, but I liked the smooth flowing lines on the 94 in that same area. See, its just hard to go wrong with a 4th gen, even when they redesigned them they got it right, lol. My 94 dash is now cracked from sitting behind a barn for 2 years, but when I had it, shit was mint. Eric L

If I ever get an LS1-style car, I'm getting either a 98 or a 99. I don't mind the interior on the 97+ cars (especially how easy the gauges are to read), but I HATE the steering wheel on the 2000+ cars. It's freakin' massive! Not to mention that it's ugly.

Somewhere in the 97+ they started having the volume controls in the steering wheel which is what I think he's referring to.- Brian Meissen
