LT1 Coolant Level Sensor

So is the Coolant level sensor just trash on these cars?

My light came on, let the car col down and its full. Left a little bit later and it was dimly flashing. Checked it again and its full.

My car does smell like coolant though. Weep hole is dry, no fluid under the car. Ideas?
Oil is not milky.

Mine went out on my 94, I unplugged it and all was good, lol. The one on my 97 works fine though. But with your coolant issues im not sure. FWIW, when I pulled my car out of storage this week it had a puddle of antifreeze under it. I think my overflow overflowed one of the times i started it and heat cycled it this winter. Been driving it all week with no issues. Are you sure that the anti freeze you saw last week was coming from the weep hole and not a hose on the TB or something? Eric L

Cant find where it came from. It has been drove each day for the last week and hasnt leaked a drop. Nothing on the bottom side of the motor is wet either. Ive been paranoid and checking everything, every time it moves.

Ill see if I can check the intake, cant seem to see a damn thing on this car. LT1 really was the "better than SBC" but in between SBC and LS1.

It is 1 of the few sensors that you can unplug and get rid of the false light. I heard the sensor gets cruded up and then gives false readings. you could drain the coolant and remove the sensor and clean it and it will probably fix the problem. the easy fix is unplug it.
