              OK just a little update...

Went over to Kyle's this morning for a littel while to check everything out. We installed the cam and crank, set up clearances and torqued to spec. I really like the cam that Kyle chose for this build, it should run pretty good and sound nice at idle too!

well yesterday was a good day, and a bad day also.. got the short block done, but had some problems that i have no idea why.. after installing the timing chain, went to spin the motor and it gets stuck on something??? so we start looking and i see that the first two lobes on the cam has a mark on them?? as soon as you un hook the timing cain you can spin the cam and motor just fine with no clearance problems?? the cam has a decent gash, so no i have to try and get it polished or i am SOL.. and the windage tray wont fit, it seems that my arp studs are too short, so i dont know if they may have sent me the wrong studs? if not i am just gonna have to figure something out... man this is sooo depressing.. well here is some pics guys.. let me know what you guys think may be happening with the cam?[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

something is definately binding up in the timing chain if the cam and crank both spin free independent of each other. Like I said, check and see if a bolt was dropped into the lifter bores. That is some strange wear on that cam. I would not hesitate to run it tho, it doesnt look too bad

EDIT: glad ya figured it out bud! lol take your time and dont go too fast. BTW, dont lose sleep over scracthing that cam, it really is not an issue. If it was a lobe that the bearing touches, then yeah, i'd say get it polished.

everything looks good from what I can tell from the pics. Thats exactly how my windage tray was too, so dont worry about that. Isnt it exciting seeing it all start to come together!?!?
