fuel pump questions??

  • fuel pump questions??

    I plain on upgrading to 37lb injectors this winter.. and will i need to replace my stock fuel pump? or will it flow enough for the 37s? if i do need to replace one does anyone have any suggestions? thanks guys

    It depends on how much power you are making. It has nothing to do with injectors.

      ok i wasnt sure about that.. but it will probably be around 400 to the wheels.. LE2 h/c forged bottom end...

        if you tune the car and the tune is compesating for some pressure lose a new pump will change the tune

          Just pick up a racetronix kit. They are cheap and seem to work well.

            maybe not needed.....but i'd change the pump for peace of mind. why risk leaning out your motor over a $150 pump. then you know you're good to go and won't chance being held up later on.

                there is a shop by my house called Engineered Victorys Inc(EVI) that does dyno tunning so i think i might take it to them.. i hear they do good work.

                  stan seems pretty good. I would take the car there then put the injectors in.

                    why not just put them in then drive over there? will something go wrong? i live like 2 miles away. it will be in a fresh motor.. if that makes a difference.. and yes stan.. thats good that you know of him

                      they are gonna dump WAY to much fuel. and will wash the rings on a new engine. the pcm won't compensate during warm up or WOT and even then its really only about 2% that it can anyway

                        so tow it over there or could i get away with the ones that are in it just to get it there?

                          the stock ones would work. but I don't recommend starting it with bigger injectors. I gave my pcm to the tuner and he set the injector scale so I could start the car and do break-in before the real tune

                              ask brian about using bigger injectors untuned.


                              I just don't want anyone to hurt an engine becuase if bigger injectors.
