Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

i recommend getting rid of them also. they are not a cooler anyway, just a heat exchanger with the radiator. I deleted mine and did the white relief spring at the same time and noticed MUCH better oil pressure. (probably mostly the spring though).
they also have screens in them that can plug up and reduce oil pressure. keep in mind there are two types of factory "coolers." one is supposedly alright and the other is junk. there is plenty of information about it on camaroz28.com, if you want to ID the one you have.
if you are worried about oil temps, get a gauge and/or a real cooler kit from summit.
I deleted mine when i upgraded my oil pump. I have had no problems so far, and doubt i ever will. It was easy to do, and cleaned up under the hood a little bit. Corvette LT1's didn't have them, why should mine???
I also deleted Old Farts (Red's) when we did the stroker project.

I deleted mine and put an old school oil filter adaptor on the block. And truth be known, if your trying to clean up the engine bay you can pull the nipple out of the waterpump and thread it and plug it and plug the radiator on the lower left where the hose runs to. The only reason that hose is theyre is to run to the oil cooler. opens up all sorts of room. Hope this helps, Eric L

That's excellent advice, Eric. We did the exact same thing but instead of threading the water pump (which no doubt would be the BEST way to do it), we bought caps from the local auto store that go over the waterpump's nipple and then use a hose clamp to hold it on.
Thanks Brian, I just did that last weekend, while the wp was on the car. It was tight, but not to bad. Used an aeroquip aluminum plug as to keep similar metals. Always remember that dissimilar metals will corrode. What kind of cap did you use on the radiator? I just used a piece of hose with a pip plug clamped in it for now. I took the blower off and am just cleaning up for extra room. I eliminated the air pump, egr, oil cooler and than bypass hose, air tubes, replaced the hose from the tb to the pass valve cover with a filter from autozone. Just tidying stuff up. Hope this helps, Eric L

when i deleted my cooler i just got a generic peice of radiator hose from autozone and connected the water pump to the radiator (the same way the oil cooler did). No problems.
I just used a piece of hose and a pipe plug and hose clamp on the radiator. Still looking for a suitable female cap for that one. On the waterpump I took a 1/2 inch tap and tapped it after removing the fitting, and used tfe paste and installed an aluminum aeroquip pipe plug. Clean, looks good, and clutter free. Did it all on the car. Let me know if you know of a suitable female plug. Eric L
