  • car is running rough... need help PLEASE!!!

OK so i have a problem that has been persisting through a few months. When i try to start my car it takes awhile for the crank to turn the car over and start. Fuel Pressure is at about 40 sum odd lbs. built up right before i start the car. i took the car to the track for a run (14.1 @ 100 mph (: after the car seemed to be running really rough. I took it to the test strip and when i slowly accelerated the car bogged down really bad. and when im in neutral and give it gas the car bogs down and almost stalls. Plus when i slowly accelerate in any gear (manual) i can feel the car jerk (bearly but enough to feel it). This problem happens at any temp and is an off and on problem. Please anyone gimme some help,

    I have replaced...
    Plugs
    wires
    opti spark
    ignition coil
gas lines get hot from engine but have no holes and are solid
    battery connections are good

Try changing the fuel filter,The control module on these lt1s dont like the heat, try shimming it out a little off the head..also you could have a bad fuel pressure regulator, that could be why it takes a few cranks to start..

I'd learn towards the fuel pressure regulator - and it's easy to check. Pop off the vacuum line that goes from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold. If it's wet or smells of gas very strongly, your fuel pressure regulator is letting gas into the vacuum line which is then going into the intake manifold.

spray the shit out of the fuel filter lines with wd40 they can be a real; ***** sometimes you have to cut em and mount a male ended fuel filter on them with some 3/8 hose and some clamps

A cheap, easy fix is always a good thing. I change my fuel filter every 12k (or less, depending if there's a problem). I find it to be a good rule of thumb. You may want to run some fuel injector cleaner in a full tank also. Just to clear any crud in the injectors.
