yea, exactly. Nothing against the procharger they work great. I also prefer the whine and low end grunt you get with the roots setup.-Joel

to each their own. Id personally never do that because no turbo kit on the planet would be as reliable as this setup. plus the power band is only suited for straightline racing when im interested in auto-x as well.Originally posted by Fbomb View PostFor the price of it though I'd rather go turbo. Price for kit for an LS1: $6480...+800 for polishing-Joel

That's the reason I went with something that practically is factory instead of turbo...tuning would be a *****.Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

tuning isn't a problem at all as long as you take it to a reputable tuner, but for what Joel is interested in a turbo would lag more so than a roots blower, on the other hand they both produce a lot of heat.Originally posted by MP81 View Post

only bad thing about a roots blower is they heat soak fast and after they are warm, they are useless, and i wonder if that guy fabbed up a cooling setup under the blower, because if he has no cooling, that little pull he did was about the most power you would see, his next attemp would look like a stock chevette pulling a car trailor.1997 Camaro SS convertible #594-Gone but never forgotten

well how does a terminator cobra make such good power with practically the same supercharger?Originally posted by 1fstss View Postonly bad thing about a roots blower is they heat soak fast and after they are warm, they are useless, and i wonder if that guy fabbed up a cooling setup under the blower, because if he has no cooling, that little pull he did was about the most power you would see, his next attemp would look like a stock chevette pulling a car trailor.-Joel

Cobras are intercooled, but heat soak doesn't absolutley kill the entire motor as Don explained but it can affect hp quite a bit.Doing less with more

You can get the maggies intercooled. Just as a cobra, run air/water with a heat exchanger.
I think a maggie is going on my silver car this winter
