Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Like the title says one of my exhaust manifold bolts broke. The one on the drivers side closest to the firewall is the broken one. Now my question is how do I remove it?
I think I read somewhere that if I go with headers I won't have to use that bolt. Is this true?
So you broke the head off the bolt I'm assuming? and the bolt is still in the head? you could try drilling a hole in the bolt and using one of those "easy out" tools for bolts.
And who ever told you that you would not re-use all the exhaust manifold bolt holes was WRONG. haha.
i had the same problem with my 94 camaro. What i ended up doing was pulling my head of and take it to my machine shop buddy. Is the bolt flush with the head or is it sticking out a little cause if it sticking out you could weld a nut on it and turn it out that way.
How close to the head is it broke? Can you get vise grips on it? If so heat up the bolt and clamp down on it with the vise grips and move it back and fourth all the way out,if you cant get to it you will have to remove the head as mentioned before.

Easy outs...baaad...
They like to break - and they're hardened steel, so you really can't drill anything out.
Just try drilling it out - I'd recommend taking it off and having a machine shop do it, though.
Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
3 of the bolts broke off even or into the head. I soaked them with PB, then drilled out 2 of the 3 and used an easy out. the 3rd one the easy out broke and I had to have a machine shop drill it out.

That blows bro. Are there any threads left. Try getting a nut with some thread locker let is cure and try to take it off. It seemed to work on the two head bolts that got stuck on mine... Speaking of when I get back I need to tighten my header bolts.

No, actually at least on the LT1 headers that I had we did not use the outside bolt hole, we used the inside hole that was right along the ports. So, if you got headers that had the same bolt styel that mine has... then yeah, you don't even need to worry about it.
