  • moser 12bolt factory option?

Im looking at buying my first ls1. I am looking at a 99 firebird locally. The guy claims it hs a moser 12 bolt rear end. i havent seen it yet. My question is that he claims it was on the factory build sheet that he doesnt have anymore. Was this ever an option?

Jeff or anyone, is there any way to I.D. a Moser 12 bolt from the out side??

I went with mike to check it out and the guy SWEARS it's a factory option.
I'm wondering if it's the factory rear?
Mike would be the 3rd owner if he buys it and the guy Mike is getting it from told him is was a factory option because that is what he was told.

I think the 12 bolt housing has 12 bolts holdings the rear cover on but I'm not 100% sure, I am sure that its not a factory option.

If it's a Moser, shouldn't it say Moser somewhere?

But yeah - 4th gens only came with the shitty 10-bolt.

Yes, The cover would have 12 bolts on a 12 bolt rear.

But there was NEVER a option for a different rear-end in a 4th gen!! The guy is pulling your leg, or he dont know anything about these cars.

I thought that it would be 12 bolts in the ring but I was wrong there I guess

So 12 in the cover = 12 bolt rear.

Yeah I'm with the everybody else above.

Last time a factory 12 bolt was available on any F-body was 1970.

And Kyle your correct the 12 bolts are for ring gear but their also for the rear cover.

Some people will say anything to sell a car. I wouldn't buy it at the first sign of dishonestly imo. Shady.
