so i have this plastic guard in front of my A/C condensor and radiator, i was wondering if i need the guard there. or if anyone has taken it off, or left it on. and noticed a difference in power or engine operating tmeperature

I believe what you are calling a guard is acually a air flow diverter to direct air through the rad and cond coils. Take a picture then we can tell you for sure.

yeah they got paid alot of money to make our cars worth less, and it doesnt look like a diverter, il take a picture and post it up soon, but it is directly infront of the coils, so it blocks indirect airflow, only allowing whatever is pushed up off the road

are you talking about the radiator support, if so you cant remove it but you can replace it with one of these for looks http://www.bmrfabrication.com/misc.HTM (scroll to bottom of page)

It's a Camaro thing because my TA didn't have one but the Camaro I'm working on right now has one.

I couldn't tell you why it's there

The piece that he is talking about is actually hooked over the top of the condenser and goes down to the bottom.
Since our fans pull and don't push I believe it's to help the fans pull the air through.

Now why mine don't have one the world may never know ???

i just went to post pictures and its telling me im missing a security token, ill email the admin and see what is going on

yeah thats why im wondering because logic would state that if im pulling air from the top and bottom, rather from just the bottom, im gunna get colder a/c and cooler engine temps. but what do i know, since im going to school to be a tech not an engineer
