What do you have to do with the ttops to get the rear shocks out???

And you have to take the carpet out....sounds like a nightmare.

T-tops have to come off to get the panels off, and the carpet to get to the shock nuts.

Gar, guess that's one negative of having aftermarket carpeting.

they aren't cutout to begin with. if you look close at the factory carpet you can see its sorta cut(perforated) where your susposed to cut. I didn't cut mine the first time I changed rear shocks but did the second time cause mine are adjusted through that spot

Next time heat up the nut/bolt with a good torch(hand held won't be hot enough). The nut will start to glow orange/red and the bushing will start to burn. You should be able to take a wrench and slowly work the nut forward and backward as you are taking it out. Every week I usualy remove at least one broken off bolt from something, Some times it required welding. For example, the shock mounts on 63-82 corvettes cost $90 each, so spending a few extra minutes on them is worth it.
I understand not every one has acess to torches but they are a good investment.

Breaking bolts with a breaking bar usually results in bloody knuckles.

I love having a car from down south... I got my shocks swapped in half an hour. Everything under my car has came out with hand tools and no breaker bars

Quit backing it in the water to pull the boat out and you won't have to worry about it.
