  • 4th gen Shocks HELP!!!

My old shocks are still on my car, there so F'd up it takes force to Push them in and retract them, they will not do it on there own And They will not do it easily, Most likely why my car has such horrible traction problems, I bought some new shocks, I got the top bolts off the Rear. But when i try the bottom Part, The Part where the Nut go's on IT just spins around and the nut won't come free when i Try to get it off, I tried holding the other side but It seems to be a two person job, Any ideas, I need to get these done today...

there should be a nut on one side and a bolt head on the other, grab two boxed wrenches and a breaker bar and go to town
      Doing less with more

Ya, I made that mistake on mine and cut them off
Look on the side without the nut there should be something that looks like a thick washer.
It has flat spots on it, just use a wrench and a breaker bar.

we had a 28" breaker bar with a 3' pipe added on that to get them broke loose. spray PB on there first. New bolts with shocks so don't worry if they break its easier.

Once we got the nut off we had to take a sledgehammer to the bolt to get the bolt backed out.

What shocks did you put on it and how much are they?

Mine needs some new ones in a bad way.

Are you doing the fronts too?

I did my fronts when i rebuilt the motor and trans, And painted the engine bay, Along with all new suspension. i've never touched the rear of the car besides the cat back and the brakes.

I'm not sure what i paid for these shocks they were bought for my v6 car for a Z28 a long time ago so im not sure.

but anyways guys i got both shocks on and the car seems so much smoother havent test driven it yet, gotta put it back together but damn all that work just to get shocks out, Interior, T-tops, Carpet Jesus. ....

Hey I didn't jinx you, that was a wish, so that it would be easier. It was a freekin fight to get nuts off because of rust.
