Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
I am ready to throw the towel in on this whole damn project! I broke the farthest back k member bolt on the driver side of my car getting the v6 out. I have tried everything! I drilled it out got an easy out in it and just broke the easy out in the bolt, broke clean off. Now Im really SOL the easy out is extremely hard and doesnt want to drill.
Open to any segguestions including cruching the car......
We broke an exhaust manifold bolt off in the head. My dad used the easy out like you did and snapped it too. It cost us $150 to have the bolt drilled out and the threads helicoiled.
Snapped off an easy out huh...lol....now you did it! You'll never drill out one of those unless you have a solid carbide spade drill or a solid carbide end mill spun at super high speed.
Do you have a mig/tig welder handy? I have had luck welding nuts or bolts onto other snapped off fastners before to remove them. It can be tricky to get a good solid tack weld on such a small area but it can be done.

if you have a dremel, you can use those tiny cutoff wheels to slit the easy out.. you will have to slit into the kmember a bit, but at some point, you'll be able to break the easyout and get the pieces out, ask me how i know that... lol
My dads gunna try and do some welding later, hes less than happy, "I should have waited and let him do it so it wouldnt break." Ill let you know what comes of it....

Yeah while you were screwing around I lubed up your bolts, Oh god that sounded bad, But Anyways yes i lubed them and showed you where the 6 points were.
Secondly how'd you break those bad boys there thick as hell, And the ones far off in the body are a ***** to even get to GOOOOD LUCK.
I have removed easyouts with a punch. by taping it backward to back it out. Usually the easyout only gets a bite going one way. depends if there is enough of a jagged edge to get punch on for this to work. the other possibility is carefully measure it out and drill in from the top hitting the end of the bolt. 1st I would try the punch or weld methods.

Carbide reverse-rotation bits (MAC Tools. Comes as a set of 5 or 6. 'round $30) and stick a torx bit in there. Well, let's say give the bit a good few taps. It's gotta get a good bite in there. Worked on my bike's exhaust a couple years back. I had taken it to a welder that was sure he could do it, then he brought it back and 10 minutes later, after doing this, I had the beast back together and runnin'.
