      shimming the oil pump requires the removal of what, 1 bolt? that isn't a huge deal imo, although I don't know what o-ring ur talking about?

        the oil pump is between the balancer and the timing chain. The oil pickup is bolted the the main cap. if the engine is out most people open up the mount hole so it can be moved a little.

                              they are not bad but they are not needed. I put mine in right before the ls2 came out. Alot of huge HP cars are running the ls2
